Three months later...
Winter arrived quietly, covering the city in a blanket of fresh snow. The streets sparkled beneath strings of golden lights, and every shop window displayed festive decorations. It was the season of new beginnings, and for Beatrice, it truly felt like one.
The Chapman Estate buzzed with excitement as guests from across the country gathered for one of the year's most anticipated weddings.
Unlike the extravagant celebrations suggested by many business associates, the ceremony reflected exactly what Beatrice and Nathaniel had wanted.
Elegant.
Warm.
Personal.
Family and close friends filled the beautiful glass conservatory overlooking the estate gardens. White roses and soft candlelight decorated the aisle, creating an atmosphere that felt peaceful rather than overwhelming.
Mr. Chapman Senior stood near the front, his eyes shining with pride.
"Your grandfather would be proud today," he whispered as Beatrice approached.
She smiled warmly.
"I hope so."
"I know so," the elderly man replied.
As the music began, the guests slowly stood.
Nathaniel waited at the altar, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit. The moment he saw Beatrice walking toward him, his calm expression softened into a genuine smile.
She had never seen anyone look at her with such quiet admiration.
Not because of her appearance.
Not because of family expectations.
Simply because she was herself.
For the first time in both of her lives...
She walked toward marriage without fear.
When Beatrice reached the altar, Nathaniel gently took her hands.
"You look beautiful," he whispered.
"You already told me that once," she teased softly.
"It was true then."
"It's even more true now."
The ceremony began.
As the officiant spoke about trust, respect, and lifelong partnership, Beatrice couldn't help remembering the wedding from her previous life.
Back then, she had mistaken obsession for love.
Today...
She finally understood the difference.
"Marriage," the officiant said, "isn't about choosing the person you cannot live without."
"It's about choosing the person who helps you become your best self."
Beatrice glanced toward Nathaniel.
He smiled reassuringly.
She knew she had made the right choice.
"Nathaniel Chapman," the officiant continued, "do you promise to honor, respect, and support Beatrice through every season of life?"
"I do," Nathaniel answered without hesitation.
"Beatrice Layton, do you promise to walk beside Nathaniel with honesty, trust, and unwavering partnership?"
"I do," she replied confidently.
Moments later, they exchanged rings.
"You may now greet one another as husband and wife."
Warm applause filled the conservatory.
Outside, gentle snowflakes continued falling as though celebrating alongside them.
Among the guests stood George.
He had quietly accepted Mr. Chapman Senior's invitation but remained near the back throughout the ceremony.
Watching Beatrice smile so genuinely brought both sadness and relief.
He finally understood.
Her happiness no longer belonged with him.
And strangely...
Knowing she had found peace eased some of the guilt he carried.
When the ceremony ended, George approached the newlyweds.
"Congratulations," he said sincerely.
Nathaniel nodded respectfully.
"Thank you."
George looked at Beatrice.
"You were right."
"About what?" she asked.
"Some people deserve peace more than apologies."
"I'm glad you found yours."
Beatrice smiled kindly.
"I hope you find yours too."
George returned the smile before quietly leaving the celebration.
He didn't look back.
This time...
He didn't need to.
Weeks passed.
Nathaniel officially assumed leadership responsibilities within the Chapman family under Mr. Chapman Senior's guidance.
Instead of dramatically changing the company, he focused on strengthening what already existed.
Employees quickly noticed the difference.
Open communication.
Fair leadership.
Respect at every level.
Meanwhile, Beatrice held her first solo art exhibition.
Every painting sold within the opening weekend.
Several galleries requested future collections.
Standing inside the crowded exhibition hall, she remembered all the years she had hidden her artwork away because someone else dismissed her dreams.
Never again.
Nathaniel stood proudly beside her throughout the evening.
"I told you people would love your work," he reminded her.
"You did."
"Thank you for believing in me before I believed in myself."
"That's what partners do," he answered simply.
Months later, Mr. Chapman Senior invited the family to dinner.
As everyone gathered around the large dining table, he raised his glass.
"To second chances," he announced.
"Not because they erase the past..."
"But because they allow us to build a better future."
Everyone raised their glasses.
Beatrice caught Nathaniel's hand beneath the table.
He squeezed it gently.
Their eyes met, and neither needed to say a word.
They both understood.
Outside the mansion, snow continued falling quietly over the gardens.
Life had not erased Beatrice's painful memories.
Those scars would always remain part of her story.
But they no longer controlled her future.
She had learned the hardest lesson of all.
Love without respect becomes suffering.
Forgiveness brings freedom.
And sometimes...
The greatest act of courage is choosing the person who chooses you every single day.
As she stood beside Nathaniel, surrounded by the family that truly cared for her, Beatrice looked toward the winter sky and smiled.
In her first life, she had chosen the man she thought she loved.
In her second life...
She chose the man who truly loved her.
And that choice changed everything.
The End.
