I didn’t want to endure it any longer.
A feminist? A gold digger? A woman who sacrificed everything for her brother?
That was not me.
I refused to be defined by those labels.
I would live as myself.
So, I took a flight back to Hoginia.
I got into Zachary’s Rolls-Royce Cullinan and returned to the Mason family villa.
Without hesitation, I broke into Charlee’s bedroom.
Then I raised my hand and slapped her hard across the face.
"Ah!" Charlee screamed.
"What are you doing? How dare you hit me, you bitch!"
She lunged at me, trying to kick me.
But I grabbed her hair and dragged her in a circle.
She cried out in pain, tears streaming down her face.
Then she called out loudly, "Erik! Help me! Erik!"
She thought I still cared about Erik.
She thought I would hesitate because of him.
But she was wrong.
I didn’t care anymore.
"Erik is not my son," I said coldly.
"I don’t need to consider his feelings."
Relationships between people can end at any time.
Whether it is love between a man and a woman, a teacher and a student, or a mother and a child.
Everything can change.
Five years ago, I truly loved Erik.
But now, that love was gone.
In this world, I only loved myself.
And I felt no guilt about it.
"Look at her, Zachary!" Charlee shouted.
"She’s heartless. She doesn’t deserve to be Erik’s stepmother."
"She doesn’t even care about your son."
"Hurry up and divorce her!"
Zachary stood there silently.
His expression was cold, like a statue carved from ice.
Charlee crawled toward him, her hair messy and her face full of tears.
"Zachary, don’t you love Erik the most?"
"He’s your son. You would drive away any woman he dislikes, right?"
"He loves me. He calls me Mom."
"If you love him, then you should marry me."
Zachary looked down at her.
His eyes were calm, but there was no warmth in them.
"I’ve already made my decision," he said slowly.
"I will make an announcement on social media."
Charlee’s eyes lit up instantly.
"What announcement? Are you finally divorcing her?"
Zachary spoke clearly, emphasizing each word.
"I will announce that Erik is not my biological son."
