Five years later...

Glendale had changed.

New skyscrapers stood where old buildings had once been.

Whitman Corporation had expanded into international markets.

Jeremy Whitman had become one of the youngest billionaires in the country.

Yet despite all his success...

He had never stopped looking for Madeline.

Every city.

Every airport record.

Every private investigator.

Nothing.

She had disappeared without leaving a trace.

Inside Whitman Corporation's boardroom, executives applauded after Jeremy finalized another billion-dollar acquisition.

"Congratulations, Mr. Whitman."

"The merger was a complete success."

Jeremy merely nodded.

"Reschedule my afternoon meetings."

"Yes, sir."

After everyone left, Jeremy stood before the floor-to-ceiling window.

His reflection looked colder than ever.

Five years had passed.

But he still remembered the last note Madeline had left behind.

"I spent twelve years loving you.

I won't spend another twelve waiting."

Those words haunted him every night.

"Mr. Whitman," his assistant said as he entered.

"We've located Meredith."

Jeremy didn't even turn around.

"Tell her I have nothing to say."

"She insists it's urgent."

"I said no."

Since discovering that Meredith had manipulated evidence against Madeline, Jeremy had completely cut ties with her.

Although there had never been enough proof to charge Meredith with a crime, Jeremy knew the truth.

He had loved the wrong woman.

And by the time he realized it...

He had already lost the one person who had truly loved him.

Across the city, a black luxury sedan stopped outside Glendale International Airport.

A tall woman stepped out.

She wore a beige trench coat, oversized sunglasses, and her long black hair flowed elegantly over her shoulders.

She looked confident.

Powerful.

Nothing like the frightened young woman who had left Glendale five years ago.

Beside her stood a little boy, around five years old.

"Mom," the child asked, looking around curiously.

"Is this where we used to live?"

The woman smiled gently.

"Yes, Ethan."

"This is Glendale."

"Are we staying here forever?"

"Maybe."

"It depends on whether Mommy finishes her work."

"What work?"

She looked toward the city skyline.

"Settling old debts."

The little boy tilted his head.

"Financial debts?"

She laughed softly.

"No."

"The kind that money can't repay."

This woman was Madeline Crawford.

She had returned.

Not as Jeremy Whitman's helpless wife...

But as the successful founder of Crawford Design International.

During the past five years, she had built one of the fastest-growing luxury jewelry brands overseas.

Her company was now worth hundreds of millions.

No one in Glendale knew her new identity.

That afternoon, the Grand Aurora Hotel hosted an international business summit.

The city's most influential entrepreneurs gathered under one roof.

Jeremy Whitman was the keynote speaker.

Madeline had also received an invitation.

"Mom," Ethan whispered.

"Why is everyone looking at you?"

"Because confidence attracts attention."

"Will they know who you are?"

"Not yet."

She smiled mysteriously.

"But they will soon."

Inside the ballroom, Jeremy finished his speech to loud applause.

"Thank you, everyone."

As he stepped off the stage, the host announced another special guest.

"Please welcome the founder of Crawford Design International... Ms. Madeline Crawford."

Jeremy froze.

His heart skipped a beat.

"Madeline...?"

He slowly turned toward the entrance.

The ballroom doors opened.

Madeline walked inside with calm, graceful steps.

Every conversation stopped.

Camera flashes filled the room.

Jeremy stared at her in complete disbelief.

She was even more beautiful than he remembered.

But it wasn't her beauty that shocked him.

It was her confidence.

The shy girl who once avoided eye contact was gone.

This woman carried herself like a queen.

Madeline walked past Jeremy without even glancing at him.

As if he were a complete stranger.

"Ms. Crawford," reporters called.

"Can you tell us why you've returned to Glendale after so many years?"

She smiled politely.

"Business."

"Nothing more."

"Have you been married?"

"That's a personal matter."

"Do you know Mr. Jeremy Whitman?"

Madeline finally looked toward Jeremy.

Their eyes met for the first time in five years.

The room seemed to fall silent.

Jeremy stepped forward.

"Madeline..."

She smiled politely.

"Mr. Whitman."

Her voice was calm.

Professional.

Completely emotionless.

"It's been a long time."

Jeremy couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"You're back..."

"Yes."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Was I supposed to?"

Jeremy had no answer.

The reporters sensed the tension immediately.

"Do you two know each other?"

Madeline answered before Jeremy could speak.

"Mr. Whitman and I were acquaintances years ago."

"Nothing more."

Jeremy felt as though someone had punched him in the chest.

Acquaintances.

After everything that had happened...

That was all he had become in her life.

The host invited Madeline onto the stage.

She delivered a brilliant presentation about expanding international luxury brands.

Every executive in the room listened attentively.

Jeremy never took his eyes off her.

This wasn't the woman he remembered.

She no longer sought his approval.

She no longer looked at him with love.

She didn't even look at him with hatred.

She looked at him...

As if he simply didn't matter anymore.

After the conference ended, Jeremy hurried outside.

"Madeline!"

She stopped walking but didn't turn around immediately.

"Yes, Mr. Whitman?"

"Can we talk?"

"I'm busy."

"Please."

She slowly faced him.

"What is there left to say?"

"I owe you an apology."

"Five years too late."

"I know."

"Then accept that some mistakes can't be undone."

She turned to leave.

Just then...

A little boy ran toward her.

"Mom!"

Jeremy's eyes widened.

The child wrapped his arms around Madeline's waist.

"Mom, I was looking everywhere for you!"

"Sorry, sweetheart."

Madeline gently stroked his hair.

"Did you behave?"

"Yes!"

The little boy looked curiously at Jeremy.

"Mom, who's this man?"

Madeline looked directly into Jeremy's eyes.

"No one important."

She took Ethan's hand.

"Let's go home."

Jeremy stood frozen.

His eyes remained fixed on the little boy.

The child's age.

His features.

His eyes...

They looked hauntingly familiar.

As Madeline disappeared into the crowd with the child, one terrifying possibility entered Jeremy's mind.

"Could he..."

"Could that little boy be my son?"

You finished
