Faye’s POV
The fortress trembled beneath my feet.
Silver light poured from my body, spreading across the stone floor like moonlight over a frozen lake.
Every guard in the chamber stopped moving.
Even the woman on the throne looked unsettled.
I took another step toward Leo.
“Let him go.”
The woman smiled.
“You still think this is a negotiation?”
I raised my hand.
“No.”
“I think it's a warning.”
The silver light exploded outward.
The guards were thrown across the chamber.
Sebastian immediately ran toward Leo.
“Dad!”
Leo's face lit up.
Sebastian tore through the restraints and pulled him into his arms.
“Are you hurt?”
Leo shook his head.
“Mom came.”
Sebastian held him tighter.
“I know.”
I turned toward the woman.
She was no longer smiling.
“You don't understand what you're doing.”
“I understand perfectly.”
I walked closer.
“You took my son.”
“You threatened my family.”
“You thought I would surrender because I was afraid.”
I looked at the silver mark on my wrist.
“But fear is something I already died with once.”
The woman stared at me.
“You died?”
I nodded.
“In another life.”
Roman stepped forward.
His expression changed when he heard my words.
“Faye…”
The woman laughed nervously.
“There is no such thing as another life.”
I looked directly into her eyes.
“Then explain how I remember dying.”
Silence.
Even Sebastian looked stunned.
I continued.
“I remember waiting for Sebastian.”
“I remember growing old.”
“I remember Leo becoming a man and looking at me like I was nothing.”
“I remember dying alone.”
My voice remained steady.
“And then I woke up three years earlier.”
The woman's face changed.
For the first time, she looked genuinely frightened.
“The Moon Goddess…”
Mira's voice echoed from the entrance.
Everyone turned.
She had followed us into the fortress.
Her silver eyes were glowing.
“She gave Faye a second chance.”
Mira walked toward me.
“Because the first life was never supposed to end that way.”
The woman stepped backward.
“You don't understand what the Moon Goddess intended.”
I shook my head.
“Maybe not.”
“But I know what I intend.”
I looked at Leo.
He was safe in Sebastian's arms.
Then I looked at Sebastian.
He met my gaze.
There was no command in his eyes.
No expectation.
Only trust.
For the first time, he wasn't trying to decide my future.
He was waiting for me to decide it.
I turned back to the woman.
“You wanted my blood.”
“You wanted Leo's power.”
“But you never understood where real strength comes from.”
The silver light gathered around me.
“It comes from choice.”
The woman suddenly lunged.
A blade flashed in her hand.
Sebastian moved instantly.
But I was faster.
The silver mark on my wrist flashed.
The blade stopped inches from my chest.
It hovered in the air.
The woman stared at it in horror.
I closed my fingers.
The blade shattered.
She fell backward.
Roman's wolves surrounded her.
“It's over.”
She laughed bitterly.
“You think defeating me ends this?”
“The Crimson Council will never stop.”
I looked at her calmly.
“Then I'll make sure they have a reason to.”
I raised my hand.
A silver pulse traveled through the fortress.
Ancient symbols appeared across the walls.
The old bloodline records began glowing.
Names appeared one after another.
Moonborn.
Silver Moon.
Nightfall.
Ashen Blood.
Crimson.
Five ancient bloodlines.
Then a sixth name appeared beneath them.
Faye.
The entire chamber went silent.
Mira whispered,
“The records recognize you as the new Moonborn heir.”
I stared at my name.
Then something else appeared beneath it.
A single sentence.
The Moonborn shall not rule over the bloodlines.
She shall unite them.
I finally understood.
The power wasn't meant to make me an Alpha.
It was meant to end the endless struggle for power.
I turned toward Sebastian.
“Take Leo home.”
He frowned.
“What about you?”
I smiled.
“I have something to finish.”
He hesitated.
Then he nodded.
“I'll trust you.”
He took Leo and walked toward the exit.
Leo looked back.
“Mom!”
I smiled.
“I'll be home soon.”
When the doors closed behind them, I faced the defeated woman.
“Now.”
“Tell me everything.”
Her smile disappeared.
Because she finally understood.
The Moonborn wasn't their weapon.
She was the one who could bring their entire system down.
