(Third-Person Perspective)
The gunfire outside the Bianchi estate grew louder.
Dominick positioned himself between Luna and the attackers, firing only when necessary.
Luna's father moved toward the security room while her mother stayed close to her.
"How did you know they were coming?" Luna asked.
Dominick didn't look back.
"I traced one of Gia's accounts."
Luna's expression hardened.
"So you finally started investigating her."
Dominick's hand tightened around his gun.
"I should have done it a long time ago."
A few minutes later, the gunfire suddenly stopped.
The remaining attackers had fled.
Luna's father returned with a bloodstained folder.
"We caught one of them."
A wounded man was dragged into the room.
Dominick crouched in front of him.
"Who sent you?"
The man laughed weakly.
"You really don't know, Don Costa?"
Dominick's eyes darkened.
"Know what?"
"Gia wasn't working alone."
Luna's heart skipped.
The man continued.
"She was instructed to get close to you years ago. Your marriage to Luna was the only thing standing between her and the Costa family's entire network."
Silence filled the room.
Dominick slowly turned toward Luna.
"She targeted you because of me."
Luna shook her head.
"No. She targeted you because of what you controlled."
Her words were calm, but they carried more weight than anger ever could.
The wounded man laughed again.
"And there's one more thing."
He looked directly at Luna.
"The man behind everything isn't dead."
Luna's father stiffened.
"Who?"
The man whispered a name.
Dominick's face went completely pale.
It was the name of his father's former Underboss, a man believed to have been killed during an internal war eight years ago.
"Impossible," Dominick muttered.
"He survived," the man said. "And he's been waiting for the right moment to take the Costa family back."
Luna suddenly remembered the documents from earlier.
The mysterious account.
The missing funds.
The forged signatures.
Everything pointed toward the same person.
Her father immediately ordered his men to secure the estate.
"We need to move Luna somewhere safe."
Dominick stood.
"I'll take her."
Luna looked at him.
"No."
Dominick froze.
"Luna—"
"I said no."
She stepped closer to him.
"I don't need you to decide where I go anymore."
Dominick lowered his gaze.
"Then tell me what you want."
Luna studied him for a long moment.
"I want the truth."
"You'll have it."
"All of it. No lies. No excuses. No protecting Gia."
Dominick nodded.
"Agreed."
That night, Dominick finally told Luna everything.
He admitted the affair.
He admitted that he had planned to end things with Gia after the wedding.
He admitted that he had lied about the business trips.
And he admitted that he had signed Luna's divorce papers without reading them.
Luna listened without interrupting.
When he finished, she asked only one question.
"Did you ever love me?"
Dominick's eyes reddened.
"More than anything."
Luna looked away.
"Then you should have treated me like it."
Dominick had no answer.
A phone rang from across the room.
Luna's father picked it up.
His expression changed immediately.
"We've found Gia."
Everyone turned toward him.
"Where?" Dominick demanded.
Her father's voice was grim.
"At the old Costa estate."
Dominick immediately stood.
But before he could move, Luna's father added one more sentence.
"She's not alone."
Dominick's face hardened.
"Who is with her?"
Her father looked directly at him.
"The man who was supposed to have died eight years ago."
Luna slowly rose from her chair.
The final piece of the puzzle had finally appeared.
And this time, she wasn't going to stand behind anyone.
She was going to face the truth herself.
