The message remained on Elliot's screen.
"COME AND GET ME, ASSHOLE!"
For several seconds, he simply stared at it.
Then something inside him changed.
Four years of unanswered questions suddenly had a direction.
The child who had hacked his system knew his name.
He knew who his father was.
And that meant Avery had been keeping something from him.
"Trace the connection," Elliot ordered.
"Immediately."
His cybersecurity team worked through the night.
Within minutes, they found the source.
A private hotel network in central Avonsville.
Elliot didn't wait for another report.
He grabbed his coat and walked out.
"Mr. Foster, should we send security?" Marcus asked.
"Yes."
"But I'm going first."
Meanwhile, inside the hotel suite...
The little boy sat proudly in front of a laptop.
His fingers moved quickly across the keyboard.
His twin sister stood beside him.
"You really hacked Daddy's computer," she whispered.
"Of course," he replied confidently.
"Mommy said to stay away from him."
"I wanted to know why."
"You're going to get us in trouble," his sister warned.
"Maybe."
"But I want answers."
Avery entered the room carrying two glasses of milk.
She immediately noticed the laptop.
"What are you doing?"
Her son's expression froze.
Avery walked closer.
The screen showed Elliot Foster's name.
Her heart dropped.
"You contacted him."
The boy looked down.
"I'm sorry, Mommy."
"I just wanted to know who he was."
Avery closed her eyes.
Four years.
Four years of keeping them away.
And now everything was unraveling.
"I told you to stay away from him."
"I know."
"Then why didn't you listen?"
"Because he's our father."
Avery had no answer.
The little girl gently took her hand.
"Mommy, are you scared?"
Avery swallowed hard.
"A little."
"Why?"
"Because I don't know what will happen when he sees you."
A knock sounded at the door.
Avery froze.
The children looked at each other.
Another knock came.
Then a familiar voice sounded from the hallway.
"Avery."
Her heart stopped.
Elliot.
He had found them.
She slowly walked toward the door.
Her hand trembled as she reached for the handle.
When she opened it...
Elliot stood outside.
He looked exactly as she remembered.
Only his eyes were different.
There was pain in them.
And confusion.
"Avery."
"Elliot."
Neither moved.
Four years of silence stood between them.
His gaze slowly shifted beyond her shoulder.
Two small faces stared back at him.
His expression changed completely.
The boy had his eyes.
The girl had Avery's smile.
Elliot stopped breathing.
"Those children..."
Avery said nothing.
"They're mine."
It wasn't a question.
Avery finally nodded.
"Yes."
Elliot looked at the twins again.
His entire world seemed to tilt.
"You have children."
"Our children."
The words hit him harder than any business crisis ever had.
He stepped inside slowly.
The little boy immediately stood between his sister and Elliot.
"Stay away from us."
Elliot stopped.
The boy stared at him fearlessly.
"You're the man Mommy warned us about."
Elliot looked at Avery.
"What did you tell them?"
Avery's eyes filled with tears.
"Only the truth I knew."
"You once said you would kill your own children if you ever had any."
Elliot closed his eyes.
He remembered.
Those angry words.
The bitterness after waking from the coma.
He had been furious at the marriage.
He had spoken without thinking.
Now those words had become a wall between him and his own children.
"I was wrong," he said quietly.
The boy didn't move.
"I was angry."
"I didn't know you existed."
"I didn't know Avery was carrying you."
"But I would never hurt you."
The girl looked at him carefully.
"You're really our daddy?"
Elliot's throat tightened.
"Yes."
The little girl slowly stepped forward.
"You look like my brother."
Elliot almost laughed through his tears.
"He looks like me."
"A little too much, actually."
The boy remained suspicious.
"Why did Mommy leave?"
Elliot looked at Avery.
She lowered her eyes.
"Because I was afraid," she whispered.
"After you woke up, everything became complicated."
"I loved you."
"But I was afraid the anger would return."
"So I left before the children were born."
Elliot stepped closer.
"You should have told me."
"I know."
"I searched for you."
"I know."
"I thought you wanted a life without me."
"I wanted to protect the children."
Silence filled the room.
Then Elliot slowly knelt in front of the twins.
He lowered himself to their level.
"I don't expect you to trust me today."
"You don't have to call me Dad."
"You don't even have to come with me."
"But I'd like the chance to know you."
The little girl looked toward her brother.
"What do you think?"
The boy folded his arms.
"Can you really cook?"
Elliot blinked.
"I'm terrible at cooking."
The boy thought for a moment.
"Then Mommy has to teach you."
Avery laughed through her tears.
Elliot smiled.
"Deal."
The little girl stepped closer and carefully touched his hand.
"Hi, Daddy."
Elliot's eyes immediately filled with tears.
"Hi, sweetheart."
He looked at the boy.
"And you?"
The boy hesitated.
"You still owe me."
"For hacking my computer."
Elliot laughed softly.
"How about we call it even?"
"No."
"I'll need an apology."
"You'll get one later."
"Fair enough."
Avery watched the three of them standing together.
For years, she had feared this moment.
Yet somehow...
It wasn't destroying her world.
It was putting it back together.
Elliot turned toward her.
"Avery."
"Yes?"
"I can't change what happened."
"But I can choose what happens next."
He reached for her hand.
"Come home with me."
Avery's eyes filled with tears.
"Are you sure?"
"I've never been more sure of anything."
"No more anger?"
"No more threats."
"No more secrets?"
"No more secrets."
"And the children?"
"They are my family."
"All of you are."
Avery looked at her twins.
Her son nodded slowly.
Her daughter smiled.
Avery finally took Elliot's hand.
"Alright."
"Let's go home."
The journey back to the Foster estate felt strangely familiar.
But everything was different this time.
Avery wasn't arriving as a reluctant bride.
She was returning as the woman Elliot loved.
The children were entering the home that should have belonged to them from the beginning.
When the front doors opened, Rosalie stood waiting.
She froze when she saw the twins.
Then tears streamed down her face.
"My grandchildren..."
She rushed forward and hugged them.
The entire Foster family soon gathered.
There were tears.
Laughter.
Questions.
And endless hugs.
The twins quickly discovered that the Foster family was enormous.
The little boy found the game room.
The little girl found Grandma Rosalie's garden.
Within an hour, the house was filled with laughter again.
Later that night...
Avery stood beside Elliot on the balcony.
The children were asleep upstairs.
"Are you happy?" Elliot asked.
"Yes."
"Do you regret coming back?"
Avery smiled.
"Not for a second."
Elliot wrapped an arm around her.
"When I woke from my coma..."
"I thought the worst thing that happened to me was losing control of my life."
"I was wrong."
"The best thing that happened to me was opening my eyes."
Avery rested her head against his shoulder.
"Because you found us."
"Because I found you."
Inside the house, a small voice suddenly called out.
"Mommy! Daddy!"
Avery laughed.
"Our children are awake."
Elliot smiled.
"Then let's go."
Together, they walked inside.
The man who had once awakened from a coma angry at a marriage...
Had finally opened his eyes to something much greater.
A family.
A second chance.
And a love that had survived distance, betrayal, and four years of silence.
Avery had once believed becoming Mrs. Foster was a sacrifice.
Now she knew the truth.
It had been the beginning of everything.
