The witness's name was Michael Turner.

Eleven years ago, he had worked as a senior mechanic for Erickson Biotech's executive fleet.

Now he lived under a different name in a small town outside Boston.

June and Vera met him inside a quiet diner shortly after sunrise.

The old man looked exhausted.

Years of fear had carved deep lines into his face.

"I wondered if this day would ever come," Michael said softly.

"You knew my parents?" June asked.

"I knew they were good people."

"And I knew someone wanted them dead."

The words hit June like a punch.

"Tell me everything."

Michael took a long breath.

"The day before the accident, Richard Erickson came to the garage."

"He wasn't supposed to be there."

"But he had access."

"I saw him arguing with a man from the Compton family."

"William Compton."

June's stomach tightened.

"You're sure?"

"Absolutely."

"I recognized him immediately."

"What happened next?"

"After they left, I inspected your parents' vehicle."

"The brake lines had been deliberately damaged."

"I reported it."

"Then the report disappeared."

The diner suddenly felt colder.

"Who removed it?"

"Someone higher up."

"Two days later your parents were dead."

Michael slid a flash drive across the table.

"I kept copies."

"Inspection reports."

"Security footage."

"Everything I could save."

June stared at the device.

Eleven years.

Eleven years of unanswered questions.

And finally, proof.

"Why come forward now?" Vera asked.

"Because people are already dying."

"Arthur died trying to tell the truth."

"I won't spend the rest of my life hiding."

Back in Manhattan, June's legal team immediately began analyzing the files.

The results were devastating.

The security footage wasn't perfect.

But it clearly showed Richard Erickson and William Compton entering the maintenance facility together.

The timestamp matched Arthur's testimony.

"This is enough to reopen the investigation," one attorney said.

"And possibly enough to support criminal charges."

June looked at the screen.

"Do it."

"Everything."

"No delays."

Meanwhile, Compton Empire was collapsing.

The board of directors had scheduled an emergency meeting.

Every executive in the company knew what was coming.

Cole sat at the head of the conference table.

For the first time in years, he looked tired.

"Let's begin," the chairman said.

"Before we start, there is one matter that requires immediate attention."

A document was placed in front of every board member.

Cole's name appeared repeatedly.

Media scandals.

Investor losses.

Regulatory investigations.

Alycia.

June.

Everything.

"The company has lost nearly four billion dollars in market value," the chairman continued.

"Our reputation is in ruins."

"And shareholders want accountability."

Cole already knew where this was heading.

"What are you proposing?"

"A vote."

"Regarding your position as CEO."

The room fell silent.

For years, no one would have dared challenge him.

Now everyone avoided eye contact.

One by one, votes were cast.

The process took less than ten minutes.

When it ended, the chairman looked directly at Cole.

"The board has reached a decision."

"Effective immediately, you are being removed as Chief Executive Officer of Compton Empire."

The words landed like a gunshot.

Cole didn't move.

Didn't speak.

Didn't react.

He simply stared at the table.

The empire he spent years building was gone.

Not because of competitors.

Not because of market conditions.

Because of his own choices.

"Security will assist you in collecting your belongings," the chairman said quietly.

Hours later, financial news channels broadcast the story worldwide.

"Cole Compton Removed as CEO Amid Expanding Corporate Scandal."

"Compton Empire Announces Leadership Change."

"Investors Welcome New Management."

Across social media, public reaction was immediate.

Some celebrated.

Others mocked him.

Most simply watched.

For the first time in his adult life, Cole had no power.

No company.

No influence.

No control.

That evening, he returned to the Compton estate.

The mansion felt empty.

Cold.

Silent.

As he walked through the house, memories followed him.

June cooking breakfast.

June waiting up late.

June smiling at him when he came home.

All the moments he ignored.

All the chances he wasted.

His eyes landed on a framed photograph sitting on a shelf.

It showed the two of them during their first year of marriage.

Before Alycia.

Before the lies.

Before everything fell apart.

For the first time, Cole wondered what his life would look like if he had simply answered that phone call.

Back at the penthouse, June watched the news report announcing his removal.

Vera opened a bottle of champagne.

"To justice?"

"Not yet," June replied.

"What do you mean not yet?"

"Cole lost his company."

"Alycia lost her career."

"The lawsuits are winning."

June picked up the flash drive Michael had given her.

"Because this was never the final battle."

"The people who killed my parents are still out there."

"And now I finally have enough evidence to expose them."

She looked out at the city skyline.

The revenge against Cole was almost complete.

But the truth about her family was finally within reach.

And she intended to uncover every last secret.

No matter who it destroyed.
