Andrew drove me to the Grant family's seaside villa.
The doctor examined me once again before insisting I stay for two days of observation.
I did not refuse.
After everything that had happened, my exhausted body desperately needed rest.
The moment I lay down, I fell into a deep sleep.
Meanwhile, Hendrix stood motionless at the harbor long after my car disappeared.
For some reason, his heart felt unusually empty.
"Mr. Zuckerman," one of the police officers called.
"We've recovered several pieces of the damaged yacht. Initial evidence suggests someone deliberately sabotaged it."
Hendrix frowned.
"Sabotaged?"
"Yes. Someone cut through the fuel line before the explosion."
His face immediately darkened.
That meant the accident had never been Yvonne's fault.
It had been a calculated murder attempt.
Yana stepped beside him and gently tugged on his sleeve.
"Hendrix, let's go home first. The police will handle the investigation."
He nodded absentmindedly.
Yet his thoughts remained on Yvonne.
Back at the villa, Andrew personally brought me dinner.
"You should eat something."
"Thank you."
He quietly sat across from me.
"Your fiancé looked worried today."
I smiled faintly.
"He wasn't worried about me."
"He was worried about losing control."
Andrew looked thoughtful but asked no further questions.
Instead, he changed the subject.
"Once you've recovered, what are your plans?"
"Start over," I answered honestly.
"Without Hendrix."
Andrew raised his teacup.
"Then here's to your new beginning."
I smiled for the first time since my rebirth.
"To new beginnings."
At that very moment, Hendrix returned to the Zuckerman residence.
His grandmother immediately rushed over.
"Where's Yvonne?"
"She... left with someone who rescued her."
The old lady frowned.
"Why didn't you bring her home?"
"She insisted on canceling the engagement."
The living room instantly fell silent.
"What did you say?"
His grandmother slammed her cane onto the floor.
"You let her leave?"
"Grandma, she's only angry because of today's accident."
"She'll calm down."
The old woman's expression grew colder.
"Hendrix, do you think someone who truly wants to leave will calm down?"
"You'd better pray she changes her mind."
"Otherwise, you'll regret this for the rest of your life."
Hendrix frowned impatiently.
"She's loved me for years."
"She won't really leave."
His grandmother merely sighed.
"Sometimes, the person who loves you the most is also the first one to stop loving you forever."
Those words echoed inside Hendrix's mind all night.
For the first time, he found himself unable to sleep.
