The instant I saw my mother, a wave of pent-up grievances surged through me. "Mom!" I cried as my voice broke with emotion.
My mother's heart broke at the sight of me. She immediately rushed toward me and pulled me into her embrace. I finally felt safe when I leaned against her chest.
The surrounding onlookers gasped in astonishment at my mother's vehicle.
"Look! That's a limited-edition stretch limousine!"
"Only the extremely rich and powerful can own that car. It seems Vivian messed with the wrong person."
"Didn't she say that girl was a nobody? Why would a nobody's mother arrive in a car like that?"
Vivian's confident smile stiffened for a moment, but she quickly recovered.
"So what if you have a fancy car? In Flodon, the Goodwin family calls the shots!"
My mother slowly looked me over. When she saw the bruises covering my body and the fresh cuts on my face, her expression instantly darkened.
"Who did this?" she asked, her voice trembling with suppressed fury.
I pointed directly at Vivian and Lucas.
"She attacked me, and he ordered his bodyguards to hold me down while she humiliated me."
My mother's eyes turned icy.
"Very well."
She took out her phone and dialed a number.
"Mr. Goodwin, your son and his so-called sister have assaulted my daughter. I expect you here immediately."
The moment the call connected, the arrogant expression on Lucas's face disappeared.
"You... you know my father?"
My mother ended the call without even looking at him.
"He'll be here in ten minutes."
Lucas let out a cold laugh.
"Do you think pretending to know my father will scare me? My father is busy. He doesn't have time to entertain liars."
Vivian crossed her arms smugly.
"Exactly. Keep acting. Let's see how long you can keep this performance up."
Just then, another convoy of luxury cars stopped outside the boutique.
The first person to step out was none other than Harold Goodwin.
The chairman of Goodwin Group.
The moment Lucas saw him, his face changed dramatically.
"Dad... why are you here?"
Harold ignored his son completely.
Instead, he hurried straight toward my mother and respectfully lowered his head.
"Mrs. Windsong, I'm deeply sorry. I came as quickly as I could."
The entire boutique fell into complete silence.
Everyone stared at the scene in disbelief.
"Did... did Chairman Goodwin just apologize first?"
"Who exactly are these women?"
"Even Chairman Goodwin is treating them with such respect!"
Lucas stood frozen on the spot.
Vivian's face turned deathly pale.
Neither of them had expected the woman they had insulted all afternoon to possess a background that even the Goodwin family feared.
