EMILIA POV
Six months later...
The sun rose slowly over Desert Ridge, painting the desert in shades of gold and orange.
For the first time in years, the morning felt peaceful.
No gunfire.
No sirens.
No fear.
Only laughter drifting across the Iron Serpents clubhouse.
Today wasn't about war.
Today was about love.
"Emilia!" Mama C called from downstairs.
"If you don't come down right now, Ghost is going to faint before the ceremony even starts!"
I laughed as I looked at myself in the mirror.
Instead of an expensive designer wedding dress, I wore a simple ivory gown that flowed softly around me.
My father's silver necklace rested against my chest.
It was the only thing I wanted to wear from the past.
"You look beautiful," Mama C whispered as she stepped into the room.
Tears shimmered in her eyes.
"Your father would be so proud today."
"I hope so."
"I know so."
She gently adjusted my veil before kissing my forehead.
"Come on."
"Your future husband has been checking his watch every thirty seconds."
Outside, nearly every biker club that had stood beside the Iron Serpents during the war had gathered.
Rows of motorcycles stretched across the desert road.
Instead of flowers lining the aisle, polished Harley-Davidsons formed an honor guard.
Friends.
Family.
Neighbors.
Everyone who had survived the war was there.
At the end of the aisle stood Ghost.
He wore a black suit instead of his usual leather cut.
For the first time since I'd met him, he looked nervous.
Marco stood beside him as best man.
"She's coming," someone whispered.
Ghost looked up.
The moment our eyes met...
Everything else disappeared.
I slowly walked toward him.
Each step carried years of memories.
Our first meeting.
Our first kiss.
Six years apart.
The lies.
The war.
The heartbreak.
And finally...
Home.
When I reached him, Ghost smiled through watery eyes.
"You came," he whispered.
"You really thought I'd leave you standing here?"
"I've made worse decisions."
I laughed softly.
"Not anymore."
The minister began the ceremony.
"Love isn't measured by the years spent together," he said.
"It's measured by the storms survived together."
Every word felt written just for us.
When it came time for our vows, Ghost took my hands.
"Emilia..."
"I spent too many years believing loving you meant letting you go."
"I was wrong."
"From this day forward..."
"I choose you."
"Every sunrise."
"Every mile."
"Every fight."
"Every peaceful day we earn together."
"I'll ride beside you until my final breath."
My tears refused to stop.
"Axel..."
"You were my first love."
"My greatest heartbreak."
"And now..."
"My greatest blessing."
"I don't promise a perfect life."
"I promise an honest one."
"No more secrets."
"No more running."
"Just us."
"Forever."
The rings were exchanged.
The minister smiled warmly.
"By the power vested in me..."
"I now pronounce you husband and wife."
"You may kiss your bride."
Ghost didn't hesitate.
He pulled me into his arms and kissed me as cheers exploded across the desert.
Motorcycle engines roared in celebration.
Members of the Iron Serpents revved their Harleys together, creating the loudest wedding applause I'd ever heard.
Marco wiped away a tear before pretending dust had gotten into his eye.
"Don't tell anyone," he muttered.
Mama C laughed.
"Too late."
That evening, the celebration continued beneath thousands of stars.
Music echoed across Desert Ridge.
Children danced between parked motorcycles.
Families shared food around bonfires.
The clubhouse, once scarred by war, now overflowed with life.
As the night grew quiet, Ghost and I rode one last time to the overlook where everything had begun.
The desert stretched endlessly before us.
"Any regrets?" he asked.
I smiled as I leaned against his shoulder.
"Only one."
"What's that?"
"That we wasted six years apart."
Ghost kissed my forehead.
"Then let's spend the next sixty making up for them."
"Deal."
We sat together beneath the stars, listening to the peaceful silence that had once seemed impossible.
My father had been right.
Family wasn't decided by blood.
It was built through loyalty, sacrifice, forgiveness, and love.
I had finally found where I belonged.
Not in the city.
Not in the past.
But here...
With the man who had always owned my heart.
And as Ghost started the motorcycle one final time, I wrapped my arms around my husband and smiled.
Whatever road lay ahead...
We would ride it together.
Forever.
