Several months passed.

Life became wonderfully ordinary.

Jeremy no longer measured happiness through business success.

Instead...

He measured it through breakfasts with Ethan.

Evening walks with Madeline.

And peaceful nights spent together as a family.

One morning, Jeremy received a call from his assistant.

"Mr. Whitman, the board wants to celebrate your company's anniversary with a grand gala."

"Very well."

"Would you like us to prepare a speech?"

Jeremy smiled.

"Yes."

"But this speech won't be about business."

Meanwhile, Madeline continued expanding Crawford Design across Europe.

Her success inspired countless young women.

For the first time...

People knew her not as Jeremy Whitman's wife.

But as Madeline Crawford.

A woman who had built her own empire.

One evening, Ethan came running into the kitchen.

"Mom! Dad is acting strange today."

Madeline laughed.

"Why do you say that?"

"He keeps hiding little boxes whenever I walk into his office."

"Really?"

"I think he's planning a surprise!"

Madeline smiled but said nothing.

Two days later, the Whitman Anniversary Gala began.

Business leaders, celebrities, and reporters filled the ballroom.

Jeremy stood confidently on stage.

"Thank you all for coming tonight."

"For years, I believed success meant having wealth and power."

"I was wrong."

"Success means having people waiting for you when you come home."

The audience applauded.

"There is one person I'd like to thank."

Jeremy looked directly toward Madeline.

"She taught me that forgiveness is earned, not requested."

"She taught me that love isn't possession."

"It's respect."

"And patience."

"And sacrifice."

The ballroom became silent.

Jeremy slowly stepped down from the stage.

He walked toward Madeline.

Then...

He knelt on one knee.

The crowd gasped.

Jeremy opened a small velvet box.

Inside was a simple diamond ring.

"Five years ago..."

"I gave you a marriage filled with pain."

"Today..."

"I'm not asking you to return to that marriage."

"I'm asking if you'll allow me to build a new life beside you."

"Not as the man I used to be."

"But as the man I've worked every day to become."

"Madeline Crawford..."

"Will you marry me again?"

Tears filled Madeline's eyes.

She looked around the room.

Then toward Ethan.

The little boy stood beside the stage with the brightest smile.

"Mom..."

"Please don't make Dad wait too long."

Everyone laughed softly.

Madeline looked back at Jeremy.

"Do you remember something you once told me?"

"What was it?" Jeremy asked.

"You said our old marriage should never exist again."

"I still believe that."

"Good," Madeline replied.

"Because I don't want the old marriage either."

"I want the future."

Jeremy held his breath.

Madeline extended her left hand.

"Yes, Jeremy."

"I'll marry you."

The ballroom erupted into applause.

Jeremy gently slipped the ring onto her finger.

Before he could stand, Madeline reached down and helped him to his feet.

"From now on," she whispered.

"We walk beside each other."

"Never one ahead of the other."

"Always," Jeremy promised.

Ethan immediately ran between them.

"Family hug!"

Laughing, both parents wrapped him in their arms.

Camera flashes filled the ballroom.

The next morning, every newspaper carried the same headline.

"Jeremy Whitman and Madeline Crawford Announce Their Engagement Once Again."

"This Time... Built on Love, Not Obligation."

For the first time in many years...

The headlines finally told the truth.
