Sebastian's grip tightened around his phone.
"Miss Lynn?" he repeated coldly.
"Yes," the detective confirmed.
"That's the only name we recovered from the damaged audio."
"Continue investigating."
"I want every member of the Lynn family watched."
"Understood, Mr. Ford."
After hanging up, Sebastian remained silent for several minutes.
Something about Sabrina's case suddenly felt familiar.
Years ago, the Lynn family had been involved in another scandal.
Could the two incidents be connected?
Meanwhile, Sabrina returned to the Ford Mansion late that evening.
She quietly entered through the back door, hoping to avoid everyone.
Instead, Arthur was already waiting for her in the living room.
"You're back," he said with relief.
"I'm sorry for worrying you, Grandpa."
"Come sit with me."
She sat beside his wheelchair.
"Do you believe I tried to kill Sebastian?"
Arthur smiled gently.
"Never."
"Not for a single second."
Sabrina's eyes became moist.
"Thank you..."
"Sometimes one person believing in you is enough to keep living," Arthur replied.
Just then, Sebastian walked into the room.
His eyes met Sabrina's.
Neither of them spoke.
Arthur broke the silence.
"Sebastian."
"Have you apologized yet?"
"I have nothing to apologize for until the investigation is finished."
Sabrina stood up calmly.
"It's alright, Grandpa."
"Trust can't be forced."
She quietly excused herself and returned to her room.
Sebastian watched her leave.
For some reason, her calmness disturbed him more than tears.
The following morning, the detective arrived with new information.
"Mr. Ford, we identified Miss Lynn."
"Her full name is Tiffany Lynn."
"She's the eldest daughter of the Lynn family."
"The Lynn family..." Sebastian murmured.
"Isn't that the same family connected to Sabrina's imprisonment?"
"Exactly."
"We've also discovered something else."
"What?"
"Three years ago, the Lynn family suddenly received a large anonymous payment shortly after Miss Scott was convicted."
Sebastian's expression darkened.
"How much?"
"Ten million dollars."
"Find out who transferred the money."
"We're trying, but the account was created under a fake identity."
Later that afternoon, Sabrina decided to visit the prison where she had spent two painful years.
She wasn't returning as an inmate.
She wanted answers.
The former correctional officer recognized her immediately.
"Miss Scott..."
"I need to ask you something," Sabrina said.
"During my trial... did anyone ever come looking for me?"
The officer thought for a moment.
"Yes."
"An elderly man visited twice."
"He wasn't allowed to meet you because you were in solitary confinement."
"Did he leave his name?"
"No."
"But he left this."
The officer handed her a sealed envelope.
"He said to give it to you if you were ever released."
Sabrina's hands trembled.
The envelope had never been opened.
She thanked the officer and walked outside.
Sitting on a nearby bench, she slowly opened it.
Inside was a single handwritten letter.
"Dear Sabrina,"
"If you are reading this, then I failed to save you in time."
"Everything that happened to you was because of my mistake."
"Please forgive an old man who was too late."
"One day, I promise I will tell you everything."
There was no signature.
But Sabrina immediately recognized the handwriting.
"Grandpa..." she whispered.
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
At that same moment, Sebastian received another call.
"Mr. Ford," the detective said urgently.
"We've located the hooded man from the surveillance footage."
"Who is he?"
"His name is Lucas Grant."
"He's been working as a driver for the Lynn family for over five years."
Sebastian stood up immediately.
"Bring him in."
"There's a problem..."
"What problem?"
"Thirty minutes ago... Lucas Grant was found dead in his apartment."
"Dead?"
"Yes."
"The police believe it was suicide..."
"But someone removed all of his electronic devices before officers arrived."
Sebastian slowly clenched his fists.
"Someone is destroying every witness."
Back at the mansion that evening, Sabrina placed Arthur's letter inside the notebook from the bank.
As she turned another page, a folded document slipped onto the floor.
It was an old birth certificate.
She picked it up casually...
Then froze.
The mother's name was correct.
But the father's name made her heart stop.
"Father..." she whispered.
"Arthur... Ford?"
