For such biased family members, Sophia was not surprised at all.
She only treated them as if they were not related to her.
When she was young, she was lost by Maximus and taken by traffickers to be sold as an abused girl in a village deep in the mountains.
Thanks to her Mentor saving and adopting her, otherwise her life would have been very miserable.
Sophia's words successfully made the Wilson Family members change their expressions.
They never expected that Sophia would actually want to cut off ties and leave the Wilson Family.
Amelia Wilson leaned against Mrs. Wilson, her eyes flickering.
She looked at Sophia with a guilty and apologetic expression on her face, saying, "No, the one who should leave is me."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to steal your resources. I just like that variety show, so Second Brother went to find you."
"I don't want that variety show anymore, so you don't have to be unhappy. I don't want to make my parents and brothers angry or worried."
She appeared guilty, but in reality, it was a strategic retreat.
She could distance herself from intentionally trying to steal Sophia's resources, while also showing her thoughtfulness and generosity.
She also stabbed someone in the back in front of the Wilson Family members, implying that Sophia was using the threat of cutting ties to manipulate them.
Sure enough, the faces of the Wilson Family members darkened slightly.
Sophia looked at Amelia unkindly and retorted, "Your innocent and hypocritical appearance — don't perform in front of me, I'm not buying it."
She had completely given up on family ties, so she naturally acted however she pleased, and was even less polite to Amelia.
"You said you were leaving, you've been saying it for a year, but I haven't seen you actually leave. I'm tired of your strategic retreat trick, and only some fools would believe it."
She deliberately exposed, "Of course you wouldn't actively ask me for resources."
"After all, as long as you speak up, these doormats in the Wilson Family will naturally bring you what you want."
"And you don't need to stab someone in the back. I no longer care about your doormats, so I don't care about their thoughts."
These words successfully made the Wilson Family members instantly darken their faces.
Amelia's face changed slightly, suppressing the anger in her heart.
She hugged Mrs. Wilson in distress, "I didn't, please don't say that about my parents and brothers."
She wondered if Sophia had gone crazy today, actually choosing to confront her and speaking so harshly.
Although being retorted made her unhappy, Sophia's actions today would only make the Wilson Family dislike her even more, so she endured it.
Sure enough, Mrs. Wilson was so angry she nearly fell back, "What are you saying? Where are your manners?"
Sophia shrugged, "I was born to my parents, but not raised by them. My manners were eaten by dogs."
The Wilson Family members: "..."
Mrs. Wilson looked at Sophia disappointedly, "Are you still blaming us? We took you back, it seems we made a mistake."
"For over a year, we have compensated you a lot. What more do you want?"
"Why do you have to compete with Amelia? Can't you be sisters with her?"
She emphasized, "Although you are our biological daughter, Amelia has been by our side all these years instead of you."
"In our hearts, she is an important part of the Wilson Family, and she is my daughter too."
Sophia used to find these words piercing and heartbreaking, but now she didn't care.
"What am I competing for? Since I returned to the Wilson Family, it's obvious that you and she are ganging up on me."
"Whatever I do, you always interpret it as seeking favoritism, wanting things that don't belong to me."
"If you have delusions of persecution, go to the hospital and get treated. I won't accompany you."
She took out a bank card from her bag and threw it on the table in front of them, "This is the compensation you gave me, and I haven't used a penny of it."
There was one million in the card, and she indeed hadn't touched it.
"After coming to the Wilson Family, I won't take away the things the steward bought for me."
"But for the things I've used, I will calculate the cost and return them to you."
Then she placed a written paper on the table, "I've been at the Wilson Family for over a year, including living expenses. I've spent less than a hundred thousand. Here's the list."
"I've just transferred a hundred thousand to this card. From now on, we're even."
Things that can be solved with money are not really problems.
