Chapter 4: The Video That Destroyed Everything

In the video, Xavier and Sandra were getting intimate in the back seat of my car.

I had intentionally clipped the most intense segment of the video.

Xavier pinned her down, panting heavily, and said, "You're so much better than Lily. She's always so lifeless, like a dead fish."

Sandra responded with a soft gasp, "My husband is always away on business trips. If it weren't for you, I would have gone insane a long time ago..."

Within minutes, the homeowners' group exploded.

"Isn't that Xavier from Building Seven?"

"Isn't he married?"

"Wait... isn't that Sandra? The woman who kept complaining online about his wife?"

"They were having an affair inside Lily's car?"

The notifications flooded my phone one after another.

Sandra's Twitter account was instantly surrounded by thousands of angry comments.

The same people who had defended her yesterday suddenly turned against her.

"So this is what you meant by 'just getting a ride?'"

"Disgusting! You were sleeping with a married man!"

"Poor Lily. We misunderstood her."

"Delete your account already!"

Sandra frantically deleted the post, but screenshots had already spread across every local social media page.

Her phone rang nonstop.

Meanwhile, Xavier called me over twenty times.

I calmly muted my phone and continued marking my students' homework.

An hour later, the apartment door burst open.

"Lily! Have you lost your mind?" Xavier roared.

"Why would you upload that video?"

I looked up from my desk. "Because it belongs to me."

"The car is mine. The camera is mine. The evidence is mine. Why shouldn't I post it?"

His expression instantly froze.

"You... you installed a camera?"

"Of course." I smiled faintly. "After all, I needed to protect my property."

Sandra suddenly rushed into the apartment with swollen eyes.

The moment she saw me, she dropped to her knees.

"Lily, please delete the video! Everyone is insulting me. My company wants to fire me. Justin might come back at any time. Please, I beg you!"

I stared at her without the slightest sympathy.

"When you accused me online and encouraged strangers to attack me, did you ever think about begging then?"

Sandra burst into tears.

"It was all my fault. Please forgive me just this once."

Before I could answer, Xavier stepped in front of her protectively.

"Enough, Lily! You've already ruined Sandra's reputation. What more do you want?"

I slowly stood up and looked directly into his eyes.

"I want the truth."

"And I want a divorce."

Xavier laughed angrily.

"You're making such a huge scene over one mistake?"

"One mistake?" I repeated, smiling coldly.

"You'll soon find out that this is only the beginning."
