Silence consumed the Temple of Souls.
Every heartbeat echoed through the ancient chamber as the towering figure stepped out of the portal.
Darkness itself seemed to bend around him.
The Shadow King had awakened.
His crimson eyes settled upon Evelyn.
"At last..." his deep voice echoed.
"The Last Blood Heir stands before me."
Malachar dropped to one knee.
"My King, everything has unfolded exactly as the prophecy foretold."
The Shadow King ignored him.
His attention never left Evelyn.
"Come to me, child."
"Your blood belongs to the darkness."
Evelyn instinctively stepped backward.
"Never."
The Shadow King smiled.
"You already belong to me."
"Every First Bloodline carries a fragment of my power."
"Without me... you would never have existed."
"He's lying," Ryland growled.
"No," Asterion's voice echoed faintly from the temple walls.
"He's telling half the truth."
Everyone looked around.
"Thousands of years ago," the dragon explained,
"Light and Darkness were once a single force."
"The First Bloodline was created to keep them in balance."
"When balance was broken... the Shadow King was sealed away."
"Now he seeks to become whole again."
"Using Evelyn," Orion whispered.
"Exactly."
The Shadow King raised one hand.
Dark tendrils shot toward Evelyn.
"Mine."
Before they could reach her...
Thaddeus stepped in front of her.
"You'll have to go through me first."
The Shadow King laughed.
"You?"
"You're merely a vessel for borrowed darkness."
"I created the power you worship."
"Then I'll use it against you," Thaddeus replied.
Dark energy erupted around him.
His obsidian armor transformed into living shadow.
His black wings spread behind him.
For the first time...
He stopped resisting the darkness.
He embraced it completely.
"Thaddeus!" Evelyn cried.
"Trust me," he answered softly.
"Just this once."
The two kings collided.
The impact shattered the temple ceiling.
Ancient pillars crumbled.
Mountains outside trembled.
Ryland and Orion battled Malachar while Evelyn watched helplessly.
"You can end this," Asterion's fading voice whispered.
"The Heart of Elysium..."
Evelyn looked toward the floating crystal.
Without hesitation she reached for it.
The moment her fingers touched its surface...
Silver and black light merged together.
The crystal dissolved into pure energy.
Power rushed through her body.
The Eternal Bond ignited.
Silver light surrounded Ryland.
Crimson light embraced Orion.
Darkness flowed into Thaddeus.
All four powers connected.
"Now!" Asterion shouted.
Evelyn raised both hands.
"Light without darkness creates blindness..."
"Darkness without light creates despair..."
"But together..."
"They create balance."
The four energies united above the battlefield.
A brilliant sphere of silver, crimson, gold and black descended upon the Shadow King.
For the first time...
Fear crossed his face.
"No..."
"This cannot be..."
"Balance was never meant to return!"
The explosion of light illuminated the entire world.
Darkness disappeared.
The temple became silent.
When the light faded...
The Shadow King was gone.
Only drifting particles remained.
Malachar collapsed to his knees.
"Impossible..."
"Everything... was perfect..."
Ryland knocked him unconscious with a single punch.
"Talk too much," he muttered.
The Temple of Souls slowly began collapsing.
"We need to leave!" Orion shouted.
The four rushed outside as ancient stone crashed behind them.
The enormous entrance sealed forever.
Above them...
The crimson moon slowly faded back into its normal silver glow.
Peace returned.
Weeks later...
The supernatural kingdoms gathered at the Dark King's estate.
For the first time in centuries...
Every race stood together.
Not in fear.
But in peace.
Thaddeus stood beside Evelyn overlooking the valley.
"So... what happens now?" she asked.
He smiled—a genuine smile few had ever witnessed.
"Now... we finally live."
Ryland laughed behind them.
"Took you a hundred years to figure that out."
Orion shook his head with amusement.
"Better late than never."
Evelyn slipped her hand into Thaddeus's.
The Eternal Bond glowed softly.
No longer as a chain...
But as a promise.
A promise that darkness and light could exist together.
Not as enemies.
But as equals.
Far beyond the mortal world...
One tiny fragment of crimson darkness drifted through the endless void.
A faint whisper echoed through eternity.
"This... isn't over..."
And somewhere in the darkness...
A pair of crimson eyes slowly opened.
