Faye’s POV
Elena drove like she had nothing left to lose.
The tires screamed against the wet road as she pushed the car through the narrow streets.
I gripped the edge of my seat.
“How did you know where they were taking him?”
“I don't.”
Her hands tightened around the steering wheel.
“But Sebastian does.”
She pointed toward the forest ahead.
“That road leads to an abandoned logging route. If they have a werewolf with them, they'll avoid the main highways.”
I looked through the windshield.
The forest was swallowing the road ahead.
“Then we follow.”
Elena glanced at me.
“Faye, there's something you need to know.”
“What?”
“The people who took Leo aren't ordinary rogues.”
My stomach tightened.
“Who are they?”
“Silver Moon wolves.”
I stared at her.
“What?”
“They are members of Sebastian's own pack.”
For a moment, I couldn't speak.
“You said the elders wanted Leo.”
“They do.”
“Then they ordered this?”
Elena hesitated.
“I don't know.”
A terrible realization settled over me.
The enemy wasn't outside the pack.
It was inside.
Suddenly Elena's phone rang.
She answered.
“Hello?”
Her face changed.
“Where?”
She listened for several seconds.
“Understood.”
She ended the call.
“That was one of my family's old contacts.”
I turned toward her.
“What did they say?”
“Leo is being taken to the old Silver Moon training grounds.”
My blood ran cold.
“Why?”
Elena looked at me.
“Because the elders are planning to awaken his full Alpha bloodline.”
“He's four years old.”
“I know.”
“That could kill him.”
“I know.”
I felt something inside me snap.
I wasn't afraid anymore.
I was furious.
“Drive faster.”
Elena pressed the accelerator.
…
Sebastian’s POV
The scent of my son was everywhere.
Rain.
Mud.
Fear.
And beneath it all, the unmistakable scent of Silver Moon wolves.
My wolf howled.
Someone had taken my son from under my protection.
I had failed him.
Again.
I followed the vehicle into the forest.
The black SUV eventually disappeared through a hidden gate.
I stopped at the edge of the clearing.
Three guards stood outside.
They recognized me.
“Alpha.”
“Where is my son?”
None of them answered.
My claws extended.
“I asked where my son is.”
One guard finally stepped forward.
“The council has claimed custody of the heir.”
My eyes turned gold.
“They have no right.”
“The bloodline belongs to the pack.”
I grabbed him by the collar.
“Leo belongs to his mother and me.”
The guard swallowed.
“The elders disagree.”
I threw him aside.
Then I heard something.
A child's scream.
“Dad!”
My entire body went cold.
I rushed toward the building.
Inside, several elders stood around a stone platform.
Leo was sitting in the center.
Silver markings had been drawn around him.
An ancient crystal glowed above his head.
An elder raised his hand.
“Begin the awakening.”
I roared.
“STOP!”
Every wolf in the room froze.
The crystal flickered.
Leo looked toward me.
“Dad!”
I stepped forward.
“Get away from my son.”
The elder smiled.
“You still don't understand, Sebastian.”
“Your son isn't merely an Alpha heir.”
“His blood could unite every ancient bloodline on this continent.”
I didn't care.
“He's four years old.”
“His potential cannot wait.”
“Then you can explain that to the Moon Goddess.”
I lunged.
The room exploded into chaos.
Guards rushed toward me.
I tore through them without hesitation.
Then the doors burst open behind me.
Faye ran inside.
“Leo!”
My son immediately reached toward her.
“Mom!”
The elders stared at her in disbelief.
One of them sneered.
“The human?”
Faye walked straight toward the ritual circle.
“Yes.”
The elder laughed.
“You have no place here.”
Faye's expression remained calm.
“Maybe not.”
She stepped into the circle.
The ancient crystal suddenly flared.
Every wolf in the room went silent.
The silver markings beneath Faye's feet began to glow.
Sebastian stared at her in shock.
Elena whispered behind him.
“Impossible.”
Faye looked down at her hands.
For the first time, something faint and silver shimmered beneath her skin.
The elder's face lost all color.
“The lost bloodline…”
Faye looked up.
“What did you call me?”
The elder took a step backward.
“The Moonborn.”
And suddenly, everyone in the room understood.
Faye wasn't the weak human they had spent years looking down on.
She was the bloodline the Silver Moon Pack had been searching for.
