The Moon Gate slowly began to close.
Its silver light faded until only a thin beam remained between the two worlds.
Serena never looked back.
She stood in Aero's embrace, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
For the first time since arriving in the werewolf kingdom...
She felt completely at peace.
'Are you certain?' Aero asked quietly.
'Once the gate closes... there may never be another chance.'
Serena looked into his golden eyes.
'When I first came here, all I wanted was to go home.'
'Now?'
She smiled warmly.
'Home isn't a place anymore.'
'It's the person waiting for me when everything falls apart.'
'And that's you.'
Aero gently rested his forehead against hers.
'You've changed me, Serena.'
'I spent my entire life believing a king had no room for love.'
'You proved me wrong.'
'Love didn't make you weaker,' Serena whispered.
'It made you someone worth following.'
Around them, the royal guards quietly lowered their weapons.
Even Magnus wiped away a tear before pretending dust had gotten into his eyes.
'Don't you dare tell anyone about that,' he muttered.
'Too late,' Rowan replied with a smile.
'I saw it too.'
The old advisor walked toward Aero and Serena.
'Your Majesty... Lady Serena...'
'No.'
Aero looked at Serena before taking her hand.
'Not Lady Serena anymore.'
He turned toward everyone gathered at the ancient ruins.
'Today, before all of you...'
'I wish to ask something that has nothing to do with prophecies.'
'Nothing to do with kingdoms.'
'Nothing to do with duty.'
He slowly knelt on one knee.
The fearless Alpha King who had never bowed before any enemy now looked up at the woman he loved.
'Serena McAllister...'
'Will you stay by my side... not because fate chose us...'
'But because you choose me?'
Tears filled Serena's eyes.
She laughed softly through them.
'You know...'
'This proposal is much better than magically appearing on your bed.'
The entire group burst into laughter.
Even Aero couldn't stop himself from smiling.
'I'll take that as a yes?'
'Yes,' Serena whispered.
'A thousand times yes.'
As soon as she answered, the Soul Marks on their wrists transformed.
The glowing crescent moons slowly faded into delicate silver lines before disappearing completely.
'The marks are gone,' Magnus said in surprise.
Rowan nodded peacefully.
'Because the prophecy has finally ended.'
'Their bond no longer needs magic.'
'Now it belongs only to them.'
A warm breeze swept across the ruins.
The Moon Keeper appeared one last time.
'The balance between worlds has been restored,' she said.
'May both of you protect this kingdom together.'
She smiled at Serena.
'Thank you... for giving this world another future.'
With those final words, the ancient spirit dissolved into countless silver lights that drifted into the sky like falling stars.
Several weeks later...
Silver Moon Kingdom celebrated a day unlike any in its history.
Every street was decorated with white flowers and silver banners.
Children laughed as musicians filled the capital with joyful melodies.
People from every allied pack gathered outside the royal palace.
Among them stood Darius.
No longer an enemy.
Now an ally who had helped defend the kingdom.
'Never thought I'd attend your wedding,' Darius admitted.
Aero smiled faintly.
'Neither did I.'
'Take care of her.'
'With my life.'
'I know you will.'
Inside the palace gardens, Serena adjusted the silver crown resting gently on her head.
Lily couldn't stop smiling.
'You look beautiful, Your Majesty.'
'I'm still getting used to hearing that.'
'You'll get used to it.'
'Eventually.'
Moments later, the grand doors opened.
Serena walked down the flower-lined path.
At the end waited Aero.
Not as the distant Alpha King she had first met...
But as the man who had become her home.
Rowan performed the ceremony beneath the light of the full moon.
'Do you, Aero, choose Serena... not by prophecy... not by destiny... but by your own heart?'
'I do.'
'And do you, Serena, choose Aero... not because this world asked you to... but because you love him?'
'I do.'
'Then before the Moon Goddess, the united packs, and the people of this kingdom... I pronounce you husband and wife.'
Thunderous applause echoed throughout the palace grounds.
Fireworks illuminated the night sky.
Aero gently lifted Serena's hand and kissed it.
'Welcome home... my Queen.'
She smiled brighter than the moon above them.
'I'm exactly where I'm meant to be.'
Epilogue
One year later...
Peace had returned to every corner of the kingdom.
The borders were open.
The allied packs worked together instead of fighting one another.
The Moon Ruins became a place of remembrance rather than fear.
On quiet evenings, Aero and Serena often visited the hill overlooking the ancient gate.
One such evening, Serena leaned against his shoulder as they watched the sunset.
'Do you ever wonder what my life on Earth would have been like?' she asked.
'Sometimes,' Aero admitted.
'Do you regret staying?'
Serena looked at the sky where the first stars were beginning to appear.
'Not for a single second.'
'Because every road I could have taken...'
'Led me here.'
Aero intertwined his fingers with hers.
'Then let's keep walking that road together.'
'Forever?'
'Forever.'
Above them, the full moon shone brightly over a kingdom finally at peace.
And somewhere beyond the stars...
The Moon Goddess smiled.
The End.
