After the Global Business Excellence Gala, Celeste remained in Europe for another two weeks.
Rodriguez Group successfully finalized several international partnerships, pushing the company's value to an all-time high.
Business magazines praised Celeste as one of the most influential young executives in the industry.
She accepted every achievement with the same calm smile.
There was no excitement.
No pride.
Only quiet satisfaction.
She had finally built the life she once gave up for love.
Back in Andostan, Trevor couldn't stop thinking about their conversation.
"They don't mean anything to me anymore."
Those words echoed through his mind day and night.
For seven years, Celeste had waited to hear him say he loved her.
When he finally confessed...
It was already too late.
One afternoon, Jordyn walked into Trevor's study carrying a school notice.
"Dad."
"What is it?"
"School is having Family Day next Friday."
"Parents are invited to attend."
Trevor smiled gently.
"Of course I'll come."
Jordyn lowered her head.
"They said... both parents are welcome."
The room became silent.
"Can Mom come too?"
Trevor didn't know how to answer.
"I'll... ask her."
Jordyn nodded quietly.
"Okay."
That evening, Trevor stared at Celeste's phone number for nearly ten minutes before finally pressing the call button.
The phone rang.
Once.
Twice.
Then...
"Hello?"
It wasn't Celeste.
It was Mia.
"Mr. Fleming."
"Ms. Rodriguez is currently in a meeting."
"Can you tell her Jordyn wants to invite her to Family Day?"
There was a brief silence.
"I'll pass along the message."
"Thank you."
The call ended.
Later that night, Mia knocked gently on Celeste's office door.
"Your ex..."
She stopped herself before correcting the sentence.
"Mr. Fleming called."
"What did he want?"
"Jordyn's school is hosting Family Day."
"She wants you to attend."
Celeste slowly closed the document she was reading.
For several moments, she said nothing.
Finally, she asked softly,
"Did Jordyn ask personally?"
"According to Mr. Fleming... yes."
Celeste looked out the window.
She missed her daughter every single day.
No matter how much Jordyn had hurt her...
She was still the little girl Celeste had carried for ten months.
"Arrange my schedule."
"I'm flying back next Thursday."
"Yes, Ms. Rodriguez."
The following week, Celeste returned to Andostan quietly.
She checked into a nearby hotel instead of the Fleming villa.
On Friday morning, she arrived at Jordyn's elementary school.
Children ran happily around the playground with their parents.
"Mom!"
Jordyn spotted her immediately.
Without hesitation, she rushed forward and threw herself into Celeste's arms.
"Mom..."
"You really came..."
Celeste hugged her tightly.
"Of course I came."
"You invited me."
Jordyn buried her face against Celeste's shoulder.
"I'm sorry..."
"I'm so, so sorry..."
Celeste gently stroked her daughter's hair.
"Let's enjoy today first."
"We'll talk later."
Trevor watched the reunion from several meters away.
Seeing mother and daughter embrace, he felt both relieved and guilty.
The activities began shortly afterward.
Families participated in relay races, painting competitions, and team games.
Throughout the entire morning, Jordyn never let go of Celeste's hand.
She laughed more than Trevor had seen in months.
Several teachers smiled warmly.
"Ms. Fleming seems much happier today."
"Children always need their mothers."
Those simple words struck Trevor deeply.
He had once believed he alone was enough for Jordyn.
Now he understood how wrong he had been.
At lunchtime, the three of them sat beneath a large tree eating together.
It was the first meal they had shared in months.
Jordyn looked nervously between her parents.
"Mom..."
"Will you come home today?"
Celeste smiled gently.
"No, sweetheart."
"Why?"
"Because Mom has her own home now."
Jordyn's eyes immediately filled with tears.
"Is it because of me?"
"No."
"Never because of you."
"Adults sometimes make choices that children can't understand."
"But one thing will never change."
"I'll always be your mother."
Jordyn hugged Celeste once again.
"Promise?"
"I promise."
Trevor quietly listened to every word.
He suddenly realized something.
Even after everything that had happened...
Celeste never once tried to turn Jordyn against him.
She never complained.
She never blamed anyone.
She simply continued loving their daughter.
Exactly as she always had.
When Family Day ended, Celeste prepared to leave.
"Mom..."
Jordyn called after her.
"Can I call you tonight?"
Celeste smiled warmly.
"Anytime."
"Really?"
"Really."
Jordyn finally smiled through her tears.
Trevor walked beside Celeste toward the parking lot.
"Thank you..."
he said quietly.
"For coming."
"I came for Jordyn."
She answered honestly.
"Not for you."
Trevor nodded.
"I know."
He watched as Celeste entered her car and drove away.
This time...
He didn't try to stop her.
Because he finally understood one truth.
No matter where Celeste lived...
No matter whose surname she carried...
No matter what happened between husband and wife...
Nothing in this world could ever replace...
A mother's place in her daughter's heart.
