Three weeks later.
The departure hall of Rose Hills International Airport buzzed with travelers from around the world.
Standing near Gate 18, Shantelle Scott held a boarding pass in one hand and her passport in the other.
Behind her rested only one large suitcase.
Everything she owned fit inside it.
Everything she had left behind weighed far more.
She looked out the massive glass windows at the airplane waiting on the runway.
For years, she had dreamed of boarding a flight like this.
Not for a vacation.
But to pursue the medical career she had sacrificed for love.
She smiled faintly.
"Maybe it's finally my turn," she whispered.
Her phone vibrated.
It was a message from Erick Thompson.
"I received the signed divorce agreement."
"I'm sorry, child."
"No matter what happens, you'll always be family to me."
Shantelle stared at the screen for several seconds.
She replied with only one sentence.
"Please take care of your health, Uncle Erick."
Then she switched off her phone.
She didn't want any distractions.
Not today.
As boarding began, Shantelle took one final look at Rose Hills City.
This city held nearly every important memory of her life.
Her childhood.
Her first love.
Her marriage.
And her heartbreak.
She quietly boarded the plane.
A few hours later, high above the clouds, she watched the city disappear beneath her.
Tears gathered in her eyes once more.
But unlike before...
These tears weren't caused by despair.
They were tears of farewell.
Meanwhile, back in Rose Hills...
Evan Thompson arrived at his office.
Lisa immediately walked toward him carrying an envelope.
"Mr. Thompson," she said.
"Mrs. Thompson came yesterday."
"She left this for you."
Evan took the envelope casually.
He expected another letter begging him to reconsider.
Instead...
He found the divorce agreement.
Every page had been signed.
Neatly.
Without a single correction.
His eyes lingered on Shantelle's signature.
For reasons he couldn't explain, his chest tightened.
"She signed..." he murmured.
"Yes," Lisa answered softly.
"She also said nothing."
"She simply left."
Evan closed the folder.
This was exactly what he wanted.
So why did victory feel strangely empty?
"Book an appointment with my lawyer," he ordered.
"Yes, sir."
That afternoon, the divorce papers were officially filed.
Neither Evan nor Shantelle attended together.
No dramatic confrontation.
No final goodbye.
Just two signatures ending two years of marriage.
Several days later...
Shantelle arrived in Switzerland.
Snow-covered mountains surrounded the prestigious International Medical Institute.
The campus looked exactly like the brochures she had secretly collected years ago.
Students from dozens of countries hurried across the grounds.
For the first time in years...
Nobody knew her as Mrs. Thompson.
She was simply...
Shantelle Scott.
A first-year medical researcher.
Professor William Carter personally welcomed her.
"Welcome home," he said warmly.
"Medicine has been waiting for you."
Those words nearly made her cry.
The following months became the busiest of her life.
She studied from dawn until midnight.
She attended anatomy lectures.
Observed complex surgeries.
Practiced surgical techniques for hours.
While other students rested...
Shantelle remained inside the simulation laboratory.
Whenever exhaustion overwhelmed her...
She remembered the woman she used to be.
The woman who had abandoned her dreams for someone who never appreciated them.
"Never again," she quietly promised herself.
Her talent quickly attracted attention.
Within six months, she ranked first in every surgical assessment.
Within one year, she became Professor Carter's top research assistant.
Within three years, she had published groundbreaking medical studies recognized worldwide.
Doctors twice her age admired her precision.
Patients trusted her calm confidence.
The media slowly began referring to her by a new nickname.
"Doctor Shant."
Meanwhile...
Back in Rose Hills...
Thompson Group continued expanding under Evan's leadership.
His business empire grew rapidly.
Magazine covers praised him as the country's youngest billionaire CEO.
Yet despite his success...
His private life remained surprisingly quiet.
Nicole frequently accompanied him to social events.
Many assumed she would soon become Mrs. Thompson.
But every time marriage was mentioned...
Evan changed the subject.
Even he didn't understand why.
Late one evening, while reviewing business reports, his assistant entered his office.
"Mr. Thompson," he said.
"There's an interesting article trending internationally."
"It's about a young surgeon making remarkable breakthroughs in heart surgery."
"Doctors are calling her a genius."
Evan barely looked up.
"What's her name?"
"Doctor Shant."
"Her full identity hasn't been released yet."
"Hospitals around the world are competing to recruit her."
Evan nodded absentmindedly.
"Good for her."
He returned to his paperwork.
Without realizing it...
The legendary surgeon everyone admired...
The woman changing lives across the world...
Was the same woman he had once claimed wasn't good enough for him.
Thousands of miles away, inside a brightly lit operating room, Shantelle adjusted her surgical gloves.
"Scalpel," she said calmly.
The nurse immediately placed the instrument into her hand.
Every doctor watched in admiration.
"Doctor Shant," one whispered.
"She's unbelievable."
Professor Carter smiled proudly behind the observation window.
"I told all of you years ago," he said.
"She wasn't born to become someone's wife."
"She was born to save lives."
As Shantelle made the first precise incision, her expression remained completely focused.
There was no trace of the broken woman who had once cried on the marble floor of Thompson Villa.
That version of Shantelle no longer existed.
A new woman had been reborn.
One day...
Fate would bring her back to Rose Hills.
Not as Evan Thompson's forgotten ex-wife...
But as the world-famous surgeon everyone desperately wanted to meet.
Including...
Her ex-husband.
