Chapter 26: The Wedding They Never Had

A few weeks after the grand opening of the York Community Book Center, life had finally become peaceful.

The bookstore flourished.

The literacy foundation continued expanding across the country.

For the first time since their marriage, Zachary and Serenity had no crises to face.

One Sunday morning, Grandma May invited the entire York family to the estate.

"Everyone must be here," she insisted.

"No excuses."

When Zachary and Serenity arrived, they noticed the gardens had been beautifully decorated with white roses and silver ribbons.

"What's going on?" Serenity asked.

Grandma May smiled mysteriously.

"You'll see."

Soon, every member of the York family had gathered.

Even distant relatives had traveled to attend.

Callum stood beside Zachary with a grin.

"Big Brother... you're in trouble."

"Why?"

"Grandma has been planning this for months."

Before Zachary could ask another question, Grandma May stepped onto a small stage in the garden.

"Everyone," she announced proudly.

"My eldest grandson got married in the most unromantic way imaginable."

Laughter echoed through the garden.

"City Hall... no wedding... no celebration... no family..."

"That simply won't do."

"So today..."

"We're giving them the wedding they never had!"

The crowd burst into applause.

Serenity covered her mouth in surprise.

"Grandma... you planned all this?"

"Of course I did," Grandma May replied proudly.

"Every bride deserves a beautiful wedding."

"Especially my granddaughter."

Ben stepped forward carrying two elegant garment bags.

"Mr. York."

"Mrs. York."

"Your wedding attire is ready."

An hour later...

The guests gathered beneath a flower-covered arch overlooking the estate gardens.

Soft music filled the air.

Zachary stood at the altar wearing a perfectly tailored white tuxedo.

For once...

The usually calm billionaire looked nervous.

"Relax," Callum whispered.

"You've already married her once."

"Today you're just doing it properly."

Everyone laughed quietly.

Every guest turned toward the garden entrance.

Grandma May proudly walked beside her.

"She's beautiful," someone whispered.

Zachary couldn't take his eyes off her.

"Today... you're unforgettable."

Serenity smiled through happy tears.

"Thank you."

The officiant began the ceremony.

"Today we celebrate not the beginning of a marriage..."

Everyone listened quietly.

"Mr. Zachary York..."

"Do you promise to continue honoring, protecting, respecting, and loving Serenity for the rest of your life?"

"I do," Zachary answered without hesitation.

"Mrs. Serenity York..."

"Do you promise to continue supporting, trusting, encouraging, and loving Zachary for the rest of your life?"

Serenity smiled warmly.

"I do."

"Then you may exchange your vows."

Zachary looked into Serenity's eyes.

"You taught me that love isn't found through perfect plans."

"It's built through everyday moments."

"You made me a better man."

"And I promise to spend the rest of my life proving you made the right choice."

Tears rolled down Serenity's cheeks.

"When I agreed to marry a stranger..."

"I thought I was simply solving a problem."

"Instead... I found my best friend."

"Thank you for believing in every dream I ever had."

"I promise to keep choosing you... every single day."

The guests applauded emotionally.

"You may now kiss your bride," the officiant announced.

Zachary gently cupped Serenity's face.

Their kiss was met with thunderous applause and joyful cheers.

White flower petals floated through the air.

Grandma May wiped away happy tears.

"Now that's a wedding worthy of the York family," she declared proudly.

That evening, music, dancing, and laughter filled the estate.

As the sun set over the gardens, Zachary and Serenity shared their first official dance beneath thousands of glowing lights.
